The harpy is a being that is part woman, part bird. As with any fierce women entities of lore, they were seen as monsters. Something to be feared. They are the personification of storm winds, powerful enough to level forests and tear down buildings. A woman with wings is a mighty thing indeed, for she knows freedom and her strength. Nothing can stop her.
